Privacy Policy

Effective 20 July 2026

Spool is an iPhone app for capturing one-second video clips and weaving them into little films, on your own or together with friends. This policy explains what information Spool handles and what happens to it. The short version: there are no accounts, no ads, no tracking, and your videos never touch our servers.

What we collect

Spool has no sign-up. We never ask for your email address, phone number, contacts, or location. To make shared spools work, our server stores:

Your videos stay yours

Video and audio are never uploaded to our servers. Clips live on your device, and when you share clips with other members of a spool they travel directly between your devices. Camera, microphone, and photo library access are used only to capture and save clips, entirely on your device.

How we use information

The information above is used for exactly one thing: keeping shared spools in sync between members. We don't run ads, we don't use analytics or tracking SDKs, and we never sell or share your information with anyone.

Deletion

Leaving a spool (or being removed from one) deletes your clip metadata from that spool on our server. To have everything associated with your identifier deleted, email us and we'll take care of it.

Children

Spool is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
